After a successful Phase 1 project in 2013, where 149 tubs, 51 PLB’s and 96 lifejackets were purchased with grant support benefiting 91 SWHFA members, a second phase has just been approved by the MMO (July 2014), that will enable members to purchase at a reduced cost, six items that will improve safety and quality. From discussions with members the following six items were identified for inclusion in the new project.
- – Seaplast Insulated Bins (various sizes)
- – Mullion Life Jacket
- – Personal Locator Beacon (PLB)
- – PLB pouches
- -Small Ice Making Machines
- – Handheld VHF radios
