Seafish, Duchy College and City and Guilds will be co-hosting a workshop for fish friers and seafood chefs on apprenticeships. This is an opportunity for employers to find out about a new apprenticeship opportunity, learn about quality assessment and to fill in any gaps they may have regarding food safety or health and safety training. And it is all for free.
At the workshop, we will provide information about the production cooking trailblazer apprenticeship, plus other hospitality apprenticeships that should be of interest to this sector of the seafood industry.
In the afternoon there will be a short (3 hr) training course in fish quality assessment for fish friers and chefs.
To register to attend the day please contact: The Cornwall College Group Customer Service Team 0800 7317594.
For anyone wanting to achieve a level 2 Food Safety or Health and Safety qualification, there’s the option to sit their exam, provided they have completed a course of study ahead of the 28th. If they study one of the Seafish online programmes, there will be no charge to sit the exam.
