All commercial fishermen should hold an MCA endorsed cerificate in Safety Awareness after gaining 2 years experience.
We have been advised by the MCA that many fishermen remain unaware or non compliant with this requirement.

This course has been designed and has been approved to conform to the requirements laid down by the MCA.
All our instructors have been approved by the Seafish Industry Authority.
Course Aims:
To improve safety on board fishing vessels, reducing the number of accidents and to comply with legal requirements
To remind participants of the dangers associated with fishing.
To stimulate an interest in safety.
To provide practical tips on maintaining and improving safety
To provide participants with contacts for further information regarding safety.
Certificate:
The Seafish Industry Authority on behalf of the MCA will issue a course certificate to those who complete the course successfully.

Description
On arrival in Newlyn, please park in the Newlyn Harbour Car Park and ensure you purchase a full day ticket.
Make your way to the Fishermen's Mission by turning right out of the harbour car park and walk back through the village with the Fish Market on your right hand side.
The Fishermen's Mission will then be on your right after 50 yards.
Training will take place upstairs in the Chapel.
