TRAINERS
David is a state registered paramedic working for the St John's Ambulance in Cornwall following 27 years work for the South Western Ambulance Service. David's professional first aid skills are backed up with practical experience gained during his involvement with the Coastguard Agency in Devon, the RAF helicopter rescue service and the RNLI on various practice and rescue scenarios.
David has been delivering training courses since 1980. His experience and working knowledge of First Aid gives him plenty of relevant material to bring to the courses, helping to keep the sessions alive and interesting.
In addition to delivering our Seafish Basic First Aid course, David delivers St John Risk Assessment and Health and Safety courses. He is a qualified Paramedic, holds a City and Guilds 7303 and is currently studying C&G 7304.

Kenny fished for 20 years after leaving school, 17 of those as Skipper. He is now working for P&O as chief officer on a 65m Irish research ship. When at home he is a volunteer crew member on the Penlee Lifeboat, where he is relief coxswain/emergency mechanic. Kenny's love of boats and the sea, along with his vast and varied experience, places him well for delivering fishermens training. Approved by Seafish to deliver our Sea Survival and Navigation and Watchkeeping courses, he leads our Sea Survival courses whenever his leave allows.

Micky has 20 years fishing experience in various capacities including skipper and is at present Captain of Putford Aries, a 67m Standby vessel in the North Sea. When home from sea, Micky is responsible for delivering our 2 and 5 day Navigation and Watchkeeping courses and Intermediate Stability.
His courses are always well attended since his enthusiasm and knowledge of his subjects is hard to beat.

Mike is well known and respected throughout the Cornish Fishing Industry. Approved by Seafish to deliver Safety Awareness for Fishermen, Intermediate Stability and our Navigation and Watckeeping courses, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. Mike has also completed the CIEH Professional Trainers Certificate.
In 2008, Mike was honoured with an MBE for his Services to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, principally for his work as a Fishing Vessel Surveyor based in Newlyn and is also a member of the Newlyn Mission, Local Advisory Commitee. |

Wayne is a full time paramedic employed by the South Western Ambulance Service who's professional first aid experience is backed up by his personal sea going experiences. Wayne benefits from plenty of sea fishing experience having worked on a variety of vessels sailing out of Newlyn and has first hand experience of Sea Survival in the Mid Atlantic after being rescued when his rowing boat capsized during a crossing.
Wayne's experience and working knowledge of First Aid gives him plenty of relevant material to bring to the courses, helping to keep the sessions alive and interesting.
In addition to delivering the Basic First Aid course, Wayne is also a Seafish Approved Trainer for our Basic Sea Survival course having completed Sea Survival Instructor Training (STCW 95 PST) and the CIEH Professional Trainers Certificate. |

Paul began his career in 1969 as a marine engineer and for the past 12 years has been an installation manager in marine fire fighting companies responsible for specifying and commissioning marine fire fighting systems. Paul also worked as a full time fireman including being part of the maritime response team in Humberside fire brigade. Currently Operations Director for Ocean Engineering (Fire) Ltd, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our Basic Fire Fighting course. |

Andy is a BSc (Hons) Fishery Science graduate and has 15 years fishing experience and 12 years fishing administration and management experience. Andy’s broad knowledge of the fishing industry gained through his studies, employment at the Cornish Fish Producers Organisation and as a commercial fisherman qualifies him well to deliver courses to both existing and new entrant fishermen.
Andy began delivering Seafish courses in February 2009. In addition to the Health & Safety course Andy has recently began delivering the Sea Survival course following successful completion of the Sea Survival Instructors Course (STCW 95 PST) at Fleetwood and the CIEH Professional Trainers Certificate. |
