SALSA Funding - 2 FREE Days of Consultancy
Seafood Cornwall will honour existing registrations for 2-days of FREE consultancy support to processors and wholesalers who wish to undertake recognised standard-raising certification in either SALSA (Safe and Local Supplier Approval) or certification to the BRC Global Standards for Food Safety, however no further applications will being considered until after 1st June 2010.

The BRC Global Food Safety Standard is a condition of supply requested by multiple retailers, who are also starting to recognise the SALSA scheme for small local suppliers who are not able to achieve BRC certification. SALSA was launched in early 2007 and is a joint venture between the National Farmers Union, the Food and Drink Federation, the British Hospitality Association and the British Retail Consortium.
