The following organisations and charities have been able to provide funding for people wishing to complete courses with Seafood Cornwall Training. We are sure there will be other sources of funding available and will update this page as we hear about them, it is always worth contacting your local job centre or business link office to find out if you are eligible for any other support towards the cost of training.

Grants for Fishermen's Further Training (DfT) |

Training Grants for Fishermen to complete >16.5m Skipper's Ticket and Certificates of Competency
100% grant funding is currently available for fishermen to attend training towards the 16.5m skippers ticket, HOWEVER we cannot confirm that this funding will be available indefinatley and we are working on a month by month basis to provide these courses free of charge to eligible fishermen. Seafish hope to be able to continue to provide these grants beyond May 2010 but this is not confirmed. We will keep you posted....

The UK European Fisheries Fund (EFF) was launched on 15 September 2008. There is £111m funding available for the UK of which there is just over £38 million for England. Cornwall has been allocated £8,178,141. The programme opened to EFF project applications on 15 September 2008.
